Sacha and Luke
A Family Legacy Supporting New Zealand’s Horses
Luke and Sacha are the passionate owners and operators of Equine America in New Zealand — a business founded on family values, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to horse health and performance.
Sacha’s roots run deep in the equestrian world. Growing up in the Bega Valley of NSW, Australia, her family owned a horse stud and riding school, and she spent her early years immersed in pony club life before eventually moving to the city at age 12. Today, alongside Luke, she calls Gisborne home, where they live with their young children, Lucia and Henri, and their beloved dogs Marlo, Bella and Lily.
Equine America has been trusted by New Zealand riders for over two decades, offering one of the widest and most scientifically advanced supplement ranges on the market. The business was originally established by Luke’s mother, Sue, who dedicated 12 years to bringing world-class equine nutrition to Kiwi owners. After Sue’s passing in 2012, Luke and Sacha proudly picked up the reins — honouring her legacy of hard work, determination, and genuine care for the horses and people she served.
The Equine America range itself was created by renowned equine chemist Bruce Snipes of Aiken, North Carolina. Bruce is a pioneer in the supplement industry — introducing the first use of electrolytes and biotin in equine nutrition, and later formulating Cortaflex, now recognised globally as a leading joint supplement trusted by top competitive riders.
Today, Luke and Sacha continue to build on this incredible foundation — delivering high-quality, competition-safe products backed by science, innovation, and heartfelt dedication to horses across New Zealand.
