Karen Moss
Karen Moss — New Zealand Sales Manager
Karen’s passion for horses began early, taking riding lessons every school holiday before getting her first horse at age 15. Horses have remained a constant in her life ever since, with only a short break when her son Harrison was young. Over the years, her interests have evolved, and she now focuses on dressage and showing — including volunteering as a writer for dressage judges when she can. She loves the opportunity to learn firsthand what judges are looking for and how performance can be improved from the ground up.
Karen’s career foundation is equally rooted in animal care and science. Before finishing school, she spent weekends volunteering at her local veterinary clinic, later qualifying as a veterinary nurse. She went on to work in both New Zealand and the UK, primarily in small animal practice, before transitioning into veterinary and medical sales — a field she has excelled in for more than 30 years. Her extensive knowledge of equine and companion animal health products has made her a trusted resource within the industry.
Based in Palmerston North with her two cats and her “super wee” dog Rosie, Karen is also a proud mum — her son Harrison serves with the New Zealand Army at Linton.
Karen joined Equine America NZ in January 2020 after many years of personally using and believing in the product range. She is a dedicated advocate for science-backed supplementation and loves supporting horse owners to find the right solutions for their horses.
You’ll often find Karen on the road visiting retailers, working at trade stands, and connecting with riders at major equestrian events throughout the country. If you see her at a show, be sure to stop by — she’s always happy to share her knowledge and a friendly chat.
