Winter is Almost Over – Helping Your Horse Finish the Season Strong
As we head into the final month of winter, there's plenty to look forward to. Spring competition season is just around the corner, horses are beginning to come back into work, riders are setting new goals, and the countdown to longer days is officially on.
Now is the ideal time to ensure your horse is supported from the inside out—whether that's maintaining healthy joints, supporting respiratory health through the colder weather, or preparing them for the increased workload that comes with the changing season.
Let's take a look at what's been happening this month.
Meet Our 2026–2027 Sponsored Riders & Brand Ambassadors
Our 2026–2027 Sponsored Riders and Brand Ambassadors have officially been announced, representing a wide range of disciplines from grassroots competition through to international level.
These riders are passionate advocates for horse health, education and exceptional horsemanship, and we're excited to work alongside them throughout the coming season.
Head to our website to meet the full team and follow their journeys over the months ahead.
Winter Joint Health
Have you noticed your horse feeling a little stiffer during winter?
Cooler temperatures, reduced movement and muddy conditions can all make existing joint discomfort more noticeable, particularly in older horses or those returning to work after a quieter period.
Prevention is always easier than playing catch-up. Supporting healthy joints before problems arise helps maintain comfort, flexibility and mobility, allowing your horse to move more freely as training increases heading into spring.
Whether your horse is a seasoned campaigner, a young performance horse or a much-loved paddock companion, looking after their joints today can help support them well into the future.
Winter Respiratory Support
Winter brings more than just cold mornings.
Damp conditions, dusty hay, reduced ventilation and increased time spent indoors can all place extra demands on your horse's respiratory system.
If your horse has been coughing, recovering from illness or simply spending more time stabled, now is an ideal time to review both their daily management and nutritional support.
Healthy airways don't just benefit competition horses-they're essential for every horse's wellbeing.
Don't Forget Winter Hydration
Many horse owners associate dehydration with hot summer days, but winter can present just as much of a challenge.
As temperatures drop, many horses naturally drink less, increasing the risk of dehydration and affecting digestion, recovery and overall wellbeing.
Always ensure fresh, clean water is readily available and remember that electrolytes can still play an important role for horses travelling, competing or working throughout winter.
Hydration isn't just a summer priority—it's an all-year commitment.
Ingredient Spotlight | Boswellia
If you've looked through our joint support range, you've probably noticed one ingredient appearing time and time again-Boswellia.
Boswellia is a naturally derived ingredient widely recognised for its ability to nutritionally support joint comfort and mobility.
It's included in several Equine America formulations and has become a favourite among riders looking to support horses of all ages and workloads.
Combined with carefully selected, scientifically researched ingredients, Boswellia helps create comprehensive nutritional support to keep horses comfortable and moving freely.

Myth vs Fact
Myth
"My horse isn't competing, so they don't need supplements."
Fact
Every horse has nutritional requirements, regardless of whether they're competing, hacking, breeding or enjoying retirement.
Many supplements are designed to support everyday health by helping maintain joints, digestion, respiratory health, muscles, hooves and overall wellbeing-not just performance.
Good nutrition is about supporting horses throughout every stage of life.
Horse Owner Education
How Long Do Supplements Take To Work?
One of the questions we're asked most often.
Unlike medications, nutritional supplements work by supporting the body's natural systems over time.
Some horses may show noticeable improvements within a couple of weeks, while others may require four to six weeks of consistent daily feeding before their full benefits become apparent.
Every horse is different, but one thing remains the same - consistency is key.
