Petria Haigh
Endurance Rider from North Canterbury
I am 24 y/o and compete in ESNZ Endurance, affiliated with the Canterbury Endurance and Trail Riding Club.
My biggest career achievement is completing and placing as the 4th International Rider across the line in the 2023 Tom Quilty, a 160km endurance race in Australia. I have trained and competed for some of Australia's top endurance stables: OSO Arabian and Splendacrest. I have completed two New Zealand Championship 160km events, claiming two buckles.
My Achievement last season 2023/24 I placed in the top 3 in every club-level endurance event and also started up my green horse who completed two 40km events. I placed 2nd in the 2023 Canterbury Championship and claimed best condition. Placed 3rd in the FEI* 100km South Island Championship and 5th in 160km at the New Zealand Championships. I also competed in Australia Roma and completed FEI* 100km.
My team of horses is Vigar Najah (Najah) & PKA Magician
(Magic) both are purebred Arabians. I have massive goals this season, especially when it comes to advancing my FEI career and campaigning more internationally. My main goal is to try and qualify myself and Vigar Najah for the 2026 World Endurance Championship. Magic's goal is to become an open horse
and start his FEI campaign.
I am incredibly honoured to be an Equine America sponsored rider. Endurance pushes horses to their limits and requires them to perform to the best of their abilities at all times. For this endurance horses must be on the best supplements possible; to support recovery, hydration, joints, and build muscle. My top 3 products that I use from Equine America are Apple Lytes, Cortaflex HA and Buteless Super Strength. There are many other products that I use and they also provide products that aren't supplements to help benefit your horse. An example is Like Ice Natural Clay this is great to put on your horse's legs after an endurance event to help prevent any swelling.
I look forward to being part of the 2024/25 Equine America Sponsored Rider Team.
