EMILY TOWNSEND

Emily is a 19-year-old dressage rider based in South Auckland. She currently competes 6-year-old Southern Star Grace, who is now established at Novice level.

Emily’s late horse River Park Wyoming will always hold a special place in her journey. Together they successfully competed to Advanced Medium level before his passing at the end of 2025. "Mike" as he was know at home, was an incredibly special horse to Emily, playing a significant role in her development as a rider and helping shape the foundation of her dressage career.

Her proudest achievements include competing Astek Ginsling at FEI CDI-YR level and representing New Zealand in the Trans-Tasman Challenge at the Wagga Wagga Youth Championships in Australia.

Having worked with both young and older horses, Emily has relied on Equine America products to support the individual needs of her team. Super So Kalm has also been invaluable for helping horses stay focused and relaxed at competitions.
